To make the gummy bears, the 21-year-old bought silicone moulds from Amazon for only $15.99 that came with a plastic dropper for added convenience.
While silicone moulds were used, she said ice trays can be used as a suitable alternative.
In the video she first combined the jelly crystals with the gelatine powder in a bowl.
‘I used 9g [of gelatine] because the jelly packet was 9g! Just use the equal amounts,’ she wrote in the comments section.
To make the jelly bears, Jordan mixed one packet of jelly with 9g worth of gelatine powder in a bowl then added 150mL of boiling water
Using a spoon she combined the mixture well to ensure the genatine powder didn’t set (left). She then carefully placed the mixture into the silicone trays using the plastic dropper (right)
After measuring the amounts, she poured in 150mL of boiling water into the bowl and combined the mixture thoroughly with a spoon.
Using the plastic dropper, she carefully placed the mixture into the silicone trays then stored the moulds in the freezer for 20 minutes.
Once the jelly had formed Jordan removed each gummy bear from the mould and sprinkled citric acid over the top to add the sour flavour.
The tray was then placed in the freezer for 20 mintues. Once the jelly had hardened, she removed it from the mould and sprinkled citric acid over the top to add the sour flavour
After sharing the quick and easy recipe online, others commented and thanked Jordan for sharing the helpful idea.
‘I made these today and omg yum! You can’t taste the difference and it adds protein!’ one person wrote.
‘Such a good idea!’ another said, a third commented: ‘Add tasteless protein powder for a protein kick too!’
