A fitness coach has revealed her easy recipe to make healthy low calorie sour gummy bears at home.

Jordan, from Sydney, demonstrated the method in a short TikTok video which has gone viral and been viewed more than 211,000 times.

The recipe only requires four ingredients including jelly, gelatine powder, citric acid and water.

The snack is perfect for those wanting to lose weight as 120g worth of the homemade gummy bears contain 27 calories.

To make the gummy bears, Jordan, 21, bought silicone moulds from Amazon for only $15.99 that come with a plastic dropper for added convenience

While silicone moulds were used, she said ice trays can be used as a suitable alternative.

In the video she first combined the jelly crystals with the gelatine powder in a bowl.  

‘I used 9g [of gelatine] because the jelly packet was 9g! Just use the equal amounts,’ she wrote in the comments section.

She then added 150mL of boiling water into the bowl

Using a spoon she combined the mixture well to ensure the genatine powder didn't set

Using the plastic dropper, she carefully placed the mixture into the silicone moulds then stored the trays in the freezer for 20 minutes

After measuring the amounts, she poured in 150mL of boiling water into the bowl and combined the mixture thoroughly with a spoon.

Once the jelly had formed Jordan removed each gummy bear from the mould and sprinkled citric acid over the top to add the sour flavour.

After sharing the quick and easy recipe online, others commented and thanked Jordan for sharing the helpful idea.

‘I made these today and omg yum! You can’t taste the difference and it adds protein!’ one person wrote.

How to make low calorie sour gummy bears at home:

Ingredients

Aeroplane jelly lite raspberry flavour

McKenzie’s gelatine powder

McKenzie’s citric acid

150mL boiled water

Method 

Pour one packet (9g) of jelly lite into a bowl 

Add in 9g (or equal parts) of gelatine powder 

Pour 150mL of boiling water into the bowl and stir thoroughly 

Carefully place the mixture into silicone moulds and freeze for 20 minutes 

Once the gummy bears have set, remove from the trays and sprinkle the citric acid over the top to add the sour flavour
