Tyson Foods to Settle Selling price-Fixing Claims
Tyson Food items Inc. said it has agreed to pay out $221.5 million to settle with plaintiff teams of poultry purchasers that sued it for selling price-fixing claims, assisting solve a four-calendar year authorized battle about alleged collusion in the $65 billion chicken business.
Cafe chains, supermarket operators and food items distributors have accused Tyson, the premier U.S. meat business by gross sales and the nation’s prime hen supplier, and other significant chicken businesses of coordinating manufacturing and pricing to enhance price ranges for staples these as rooster breasts, tenders and wings. The Tyson settlement doesn’t go over lawsuits submitted independently by personal plaintiffs.
