“The Soul of Seattle” goes digital in assist of Black-owned eating places
All February the yearly function will host digital cooking demos, meal supply, reward baskets, a silent auction and extra! It’s the same large celebration — but digital!
SEATTLE — Set up in 2019, The Soul of Seattle is an yearly party that highlights Black Excellence in the Seattle-space. For 2021, fundraising functions have gone virtual to reward those who will need it most: regional Black cooks and nonprofits that empower youth of coloration.
All through February, The Soul of Seattle will host a series of virtual gatherings including cooking demos with acclaimed chefs and culinary leaders, meal supply, present baskets showcasing Black-owned firms, silent auctions, and additional. It’ll be the exact major bash — but virtual!
The objective is to increase $350,000 to “reward participating Black Chefs with brick and mortar dining places who are struggling to survive because of to the pandemic and companies that empower youth of colour in Seattle.”
Acclaimed Seattle, Chef Edouardo Jordan (Junebaby, Salare), and Thomas Reynolds of Northwest Harvest mentioned what we can anticipate from the digital collection and what situations to be on the lookout for.

- Friday, February 5th – Are living Cooking Demo with neighborhood Chefs
- Friday, February 12th – Are living Panel Dialogue with nationwide Black culinary leaders
- Friday, February 19th – Dwell Cooking Demo with community Cooks
- Friday, February 26th – Stay Closing Dance occasion with DJ
- Weekly Silent Auction that includes rotating goods
