Meals drive in Port Orange set for seniors and all those with COVID-19
With yet another food travel established for Saturday, Wholesome Souls Intercontinental hopes to collect enough canned and dried items to feed seniors and all those with Covid-19.
The food drive, one of numerous that have taken location amid the coronavirus pandemic, will unfold from 9 a.m. to midday in the Dunlawton Plaza parking large amount in Port Orange.
Wholesome Souls Intercontinental, a disaster relief nonprofit that aided feed persons in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico just after strong hurricanes devastated the islands, has stepped up to produce groceries because the onset of the pandemic to these confined to their properties.
Lots of nonprofits have witnessed the demand for meals aid surge more than the past 9 months. While the need to have has not diminished, Balanced Souls Global has started to operate minimal on donations.
“We are inquiring people today to help us feed seniors or family members that are in quarantine,” claimed Maria Davila, founder of Healthier Souls International. “If persons have analyzed good for COVID-19, we don’t want them likely out since they don’t have an individual who can go to the retail store for them. We’re attempting to flatten the curve on this, and we have taken that initiative since March. As you can see, help is still in this article.”
For those who are unable to attend the function, Healthful Souls Global will carry on to collect canned and dried goods from 5 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday at its warehouse on 2330 S. Nova Road in South Daytona. In addition to canned and dried items, the nonprofit asks folks to donate reduced-sodium and very low-sugar items for seniors.
