The first, Cafe Leonelli, will be helmed by chef Jonathan Benno, who provides Michelin star pedigree and practical experience in the kitchen together with culinary titans like Daniel Boulud, Michael Mina, and Thomas Keller. An offshoot of Leonelli Bakery in New York City, the cafe will provide a menu of “accessible Italian cuisine” ranging from focaccia to contemporary pasta. Italian pastries geared up by pastry chef Salvatore Martone, will also be a fixture of the menu.

Also opening at the MFAH’s new Kinder Setting up is Le Jardinier, a French cafe with chef Alain Verzeroli foremost the kitchen. Vezreroli comes to Houston following 20 many years of functioning alongside vaunted chef Joel Robuchon at iconic places to eat like Arpege, and will oversee a menu of “vegetable-rich” dishes designed with locally sourced natural deliver and meats. The restaurant’s open up-air patio will supply sights of the museum’s sculpture backyard.

In addition to the two places to eat, Bastion Eating places will also open an outpost of Martone’s ice cream shop Frohzen inside of Cafe Leonelli, slinging its famed ice product cupcakes, macaron ice product sandwiches, and “cakesicles.”

All a few assignments will be located within the amazing new Kinder developing, named for MFAH donors (and electricity billionaires) Nancy and Rich Kinder. The areas, made by Steven Harris Architects in New York, will involve piece of artwork exclusively commissioned for the house, together with overhead lights manufactured of Akari lanterns developed by iconic American designer Isamo Noguchi.

Cafe Leonelli is established to make its debut at MFAH in March, with Le Jardinier to observe in April. Remain tuned for more aspects on the menus and an official opening timeline in the coming weeks.
