Cue the traces: Filipino quickly-food chain Jollibee, which is internationally beloved for dishes like “Chickenjoy” (aka fried hen) and warm-doggy-studded “jolly spaghetti,” is coming to a former Boston Sector at Alexandria’s Landmark purchasing heart, stories the Washington Small business Journal. A locale at Maryland’s Westfield Wheaton Shopping mall is also in the works.
Supporters of Jollibee are a devoted whole lot (here’s the late Anthony Bourdain sampling the fried chicken on Sections Not known). In the States, there are about 40 locations—with numerous of them on the West Coast—and people at times take care of the position and its distinctive-sauce-laden Yumburgers as the rationale for a highway trip.
Rely former Lousy Saint chef Tom Cunanan as a single of its fiercest supporters. Not only has he been acknowledged to head to Jersey or Queens for a fix, but he is working with the location as inspiration for Pogiboy, his forthcoming rapidly-informal spot for smash burgers and spaghetti in DC’s Block food stuff hall. It is a collaboration with yet an additional Jollibee fanatic, previous Kaliwa chef Paolo Dungca.
