Dochi, maker of great Japanese mochi donuts, is opening a store in Mills 50

Individuals of you who went cuckoo when Dochi opened on the 2nd ground of East Finish Sector back again in February, put together to eliminate your minds. The store specializing in mochi donuts will open a long term space in Mills 50 and, get this, they are aiming for a Valentine’s Working day opening.

Dochi will take over the old Qùynh Dao Excellent Cakes house at 1222 E. Colonial Drive, throughout the road from Poke Hana and Mamak Asian Street Food stuff.

The idea, started by longtime buds Jason Le and Frank Phan, began as a pop-up prior to their next-flooring, Thursday-Sunday operation at East Close Market. Le and Phan teamed up with area restaurateurs Johnny and Jimmy Tung of Omei Restaurant Group to open up the Mills 50 store. &#13

For the uninitiated, Dochi’s donuts are created from glutinous Japanese rice flour (which lend to their elegant crispy-chewy texture) and come in these flavors as Ube Glaze, Taro Pebbles, Fererro Rocher and the Japanese-motivated Matcha Oreo. Dochi even collaborated with Hinckley’s Extravagant Meats to create the Maple Bacon Glaze, a constrained-version flavor.

The Mills 50 spot will be open up seven times a week and offer house-brewed coffee in which to dunk those pliable buggers. And fear not, all you Audubon Parkers: The East Finish Market place spot will continue being open up, says Tung. “For now.”

Dochi at the moment has 3 other spots — two in Seattle and just one opening before long in Denver — but the Orlando retailers, they claim, are the only types in the Southeast that supply mochi donuts. Dochi will open a spot in the Jacksonville Town Center this summer time, with designs to extend to Tampa and South Florida subsequent.&#13
