Chef Justin Turner debuts new restaurants in Generation Park
Gastropub Productions, a new restaurant group by McCord Development led by chef Justin Turner, will officially open its first two restaurants Friday in northeast Houston’s Generation Park development.
Bocca Italian Kitchen and Lupo Pizzeria will open at Redemption Square in spaces previously occupied by Wholesome Kitchen & Pies. Generation Park is a 4,200-acre development of Houston-based McCord with office, retail, industrial, residential and hospitality components near Beltway 8 and West Lake Houston Parkway.

Turner, best known as the creator of Bernie’s Burger Bus and a winner on the Food Network’s “Chopped” show, has turned his focus to Italian classics at Bocca and New York-style pizza at Lupo Pizzeria. Bernie’s Burger Bus closed all of its locations across Houston last year due to COVID.
“We’re excited to open our doors officially and welcome the community to Bocca + Lupo,” Gastropub Director of Hospitality Justin Turner said in an announcement.
The restaurants, at 250 Assay St., join Bibo’s Bistro, Pretty Little Things Boutique and BB&T. McCord will soon open Eden Salon Suites, another in-house project, in the Redemption Square lifestyle district of Generation Park.
