GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – An instance of culture lifestyle or did a regional foods blogger take a joke much too significantly?

A Publix Sub is at the center of a social media blitz that ended with a blogger suspending his web site. Ken Peng, of Ken Eats Gainesville, states he been given a social media backlash to a photo he posted and it has compelled him to pause his crafting.

The photo showed a receipt from his on-line buy of a Publix Sub. In the special guidance, he applied sexual innuendo to explain the sandwich and it drew major criticism on Instagram and Reddit – with one Reddit user declaring, “let’s get rid” of Peng.

On his website, Peng famous that he generally jokes in the notes section, but that this joke skipped the mark.

“Thank you to all the men and women who have reached out to offer their support,” Peng stated in a statement he sent to Television20. “I have generally tried to do correct by the eating places I review. Never ever have I at any time demanded cost-free food stuff, mistreated any wait staff, or do nearly anything but share my viewpoint. I have often operated KEG with integrity, and it’s a shame that there are the loud minority trying to smear my reputation.”

Peng made available to apologize to the deli worker who produced the sub, and says he’s now being characterized as a lot even worse than a person who made an inappropriate joke.

“I consider my marriage with community organizations and dining establishments alike speaks for alone,” Peng added. “The final couple times have been tough reading through the accusations and makes an attempt to demolish my character. I will be using a much needed crack and return greater.”

Peng tells Television20 he stopped by Publix and spoke to the supervisor on Friday. Right after talking with the supervisor, Peng left his quantity in circumstance anybody was offended so he can apologize if that was the case.
