NEW ORLEANS — Barbara Chifici, the owner of Deanie’s Seafood dining places in Bucktown, the French Quarter and on Magazine St., died Saturday at Ochsner Healthcare Heart Kenner. She was 77.

A assertion from the restaurant group said Mrs. Chifici died of problems from coronavirus.

This previous year, the Chifici family members marked 38 decades as house owners of Deanie’s, regarded for serving up overflowing fried seafood platters and mountains of boiled seafood. The restaurant group employs approximately 300 men and women at its 3 locations.

“My mother was an inspiration to generations of culinarians and hospitality workers,” her son Darren Chifici, Deanie’s basic supervisor, stated in a statement. “She instilled a authentic feeling of hospitality, top quality, loved ones and pleasure into every thing she did.”
