Barbara Chifici, owner of Deanie’s Seafood eating places, dies of coronavirus
Barbara Chifici, the proprietor of Deanie’s Seafood dining establishments in Bucktown, the French Quarter and on Journal St., died Saturday at Ochsner Medical Centre Kenner. She was 77.

In 2001, Mrs. Chifici opened the 2nd Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant found at the corner of Iberville and Dauphine streets in the French Quarter. Deanie’s Seafood Kitchen, located at 2200 Magazine St., opened in 2018.
Mrs. Chifici was awarded an American Culinary Federation New Orleans’ Excellent Foodservice Skilled Award in 2013 and judged quite a few culinary competitions across the region throughout her job.
The company stated she remained a fixture at the restaurants right until the coronavirus pandemic.
Mrs. Chifici also had a serious estate small business for a lot of many years. She was present-day president and a longtime member of the Elenian Club of New Orleans, a philanthropic team of women of Italian descent.
