ST. LOUIS — “The Hill” was written by a third generation Italian American, LynnMarie Alexander. She is not only the director and archivist of The Hill Neighborhood Middle, but she grew up there.
“My grandparents, good grandparents ended up here. I stay in my terrific grandparents’ house,” she explained.
And you cannot compose a book about The Hill without the need of the meals. And there is loads of it.
From dining places, bakeries and markets, it is far more than adequate to rev up your appetite. It’s also portion cookbook with a recipe area.
But it is not just food stuff – the book digs deep into the history of the neighborhood, from church to universities, as well.
