Pop-up burger advantage cooking for food stuff industry workers in Ocean Shores
Several community dining establishments and brewpubs are teaming up on a pop-up fundraiser Wednesday to profit pandemic-influenced hospitality personnel on the North Beach front.
For the duration of these difficult times, they are selecting to give back to some of the employees they come to feel require it most, in accordance to Brodey Jones, the key organizer at the rear of the event, and owner of the Finch & Bull meals truck and Ocean Beach Roasters & Bistro in Ocean Shores.
Aberdeen’s Steam Donkey Brewery, owned and operated by Jon and Stefanie Bennett, is also a co-sponsor as they co-have the foodstuff truck with Jones.
The donation-only burger pop-up will be held at the Ocean Pours Taproom in Ocean Shores — at 759 Ocean Shores Blvd. NW — with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting North Seaside cafe staff members affected by the COVID mandates, according to Jones.
The food truck will be serving “straight-up burgers and chips — practically nothing fancy, just an outright delicious lunch,” stated Jones, who previously famous that he’s experienced to reluctantly reduce hours and lay off staff members during the pandemic.
“Your preference of toppings are cheese and goop,” he added.
The truck will be there from midday until eventually 3 p.m. (or right up until the burgers operate out) and donations are “cash only, make sure you,” said Jones.
Chris Shifman, co-owner and manager of Ocean Pours Taproom, explained Jones was the shifting drive behind the fundraiser, but he was glad to chip in.
”We’re just sort of donating our grounds, and we’re donating 10% of our proceeds from that working day,” he stated. “Right now, we’re incredibly lucky that we have our outside beer back garden and beer tent. That has allowed us to continue to keep our workers on.”
But a large amount of other North Seaside restaurants are not in the similar boat, explained Shifman, and this is a way of “helping some food items industry individuals.”
“If we can give again this way, we will,” he stated. “If the governing administration is not undertaking it for us, then we’ll do it for ourselves.”
“Come on out and be hungry,” extra Jones, who explained he is established up to serve up to 120 burgers that day. “It will be delightful and enjoyment.”
