Livermore Eateries Join First ‘Taste Tri-Valley’ Restaurant Week

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore foodies, get ready for February. Local restaurants will be among those participating in an inaugural Tri-Valley restaurant week event slated for next month.

Tourism marketing agency Visit Tri-Valley will be hosting the first Taste Tri-Valley event from Feb. 19 to 28. East Bay epicureans are encouraged to order take-out and dining from participating restaurants, which will put their best on display with limited-time, prix fixe lunch and dinner menus. There will be two price points for lunch and three price points for dinner menus.

Visit Tri-Valley has long been interested in organizing a local restaurant week, but decided that this year was the year — even though indoor and outdoor dining is currently prohibited. Supporting local restaurants has never been more important given the economic challenges of the past year, said Robin Fahr, Visit Tri-Valley communications and marketing director.

“Right now, it’s desperate,” she said. “That’s what we’re really trying to do, to answer the call now when people really need it most.”

Thirty-five restaurants across the region have signed up with enthusiasm, Fahr said. The full list of participating restaurants will be announced within two weeks, but options reflect the diversity of Tri-Valley and include everything from pizza to shabu shabu. Wine pairings from local vintners are also in the works for some restaurants.

Diners can expect to see favorites such as Livermore’s Posada Restaurant and Zephyr Grill,Dublin’s Berevino Italian Pub and Bangkok 101, Pleasanton’s Sabio On Main, Danville’s Bridges Restaurant and Bar and Danville Harvest.

“If this [lineup] doesn’t get people, I don’t know what will,” Fahr said.

Anyone interested in stepping the fun up a notch may sign up for a mobile phone-friendly restaurant passport, which allows diners to check in and record which restaurants they’ve visited. Whoever eats at the most Taste Tri-Valley spots during the 10-day event will receive prizes, such as restaurant gift cards.

Visit Tri-Valley aims to make the event a tradition with more restaurants in years to come.
